18 Driving through Wildcat Canyon to San Vi(n)cente
Another episode of my Personal Street View with my DIY MiniSteadyCam. I don't know whether it is really called Vicente or Vincente. Anyway - nestled in the rolling hills of Ramona (California) San Vi(n)cente is truly a great getaway from the stresses of the city life. A cute village partly on top of some steep hills with an 18 hole golf court. I happend to find it on my way through the Widcat Canyon looking for a nice dark place to watch the Geminid Meteor Shower last Monday night. If you are looking for a really dark site near San Diego (30 miles, 40 minutes), go to 32.977314,-116.823345 (Painted Rock Road, 1600 ft asl). The light pollution of San Diego City is perfectly hidden by the San Vicente Mountain (3000 ft) in the south.
