Marc testifies at his mother's hearing. TRIVIA: Frances Schreuder was sentenced to life in prison on October 3, 1983. Schreuder, who maintained she was innocent, was denied to remain free on bail while appealing her verdict and was booked into the Salt Lake City County Jail immediately after the hearing. In March 1985, Schreuder returned to the Utah prison following a temporary stint at an Idaho prison facility to help improve her attitude. Her behavior had worsened in late 1984 after she was given a 1996 parole date (originally it was supposed to be after 5-6 years). In 1986 Utahs KTVX interviewed Schreuder in prison. The following year, both CBS and NBC aired a mini-series about the case. In January 1989 Schreuder filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. On December 22, 1993, Schreuder was granted a two-hour visit with her then-90-year-old mother Bernice Bradshaw. In June 1994, Frances graduated from Utah State University. The following month, her son was paroled after serving 12 years for killing his grandfather. On February 24, 1996 Bernice Bradshaw died at 92 making her daughter Frances the main beneficiary of her will. Frances' sister failed in her court room attempt to keep Frances from inheriting their mothers money (about $1 million), which came from their murdered father Franklin Bradshaw. In October 1996 Frances was released from prison. She soon moved to San Diego where she lived for the rest of her life. Frances died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on April ...
