Judge: John O'neil
Jail / Facility: Boulder County Location: Denver Colorado Report Abuse
Dismissed CaseYour Honor, As I had not been driving for several years, basically ten, while living in Manhattan, NY, I never received a certified letter that went to my NH address in 2003 upon being charged in Brattleboro with a Driving under the Influence offense. I was told that I had been convicted by the folks that lived at the NH address over the phone as they read me a letter from the DMV stating (years ago, in 2003 as well) that my license was suspended. I never had a reason to think otherwise as I had not been driving and nothing came up. However, I took a job in Colorado 2 months ago, and moved here. Before doing so(August), I looked up my fines outstanding and found that I had a fee unpaid in VT. I attempted to pay this and found it went unregistered upon arrival here and while obtaining a Colorado License, Vehicle and Insurance, which provided me with the lowest rate based on my driving record. I was going through the exception process at the DMV here and I was told I was clear for a license here. I found that I needed to pay the fine again in VT, and that the case was dismissed for the DUI. However, that Project Crash was treating the case as a conviction and not releasing the hold on my license. I have paid any/all fines via money order as of October (11) and have these receipts. I contacted project crash. They were unreachable most often over the past months ( and as in now, today moments ago after calling the number 802-651-1574, pressing appropriate keys, was disconnected with a message 'no information available')Upon reaching them I was informed it was on a national database that I had to take a DUI class. I took one in Montana and upon informing Project Crash and furnishing the information to them have still not had the Vermont suspension released, therefore causing a suspension across the board in MA, NH and here in CO. If I do not get this cleared I will be facing possible problems going forward. I look to clear up and resolve any matter in this case. Is it possible to notify the Project Crash of my dismissal as well? By John O'Neil, Published December 14 2011. |
