Last year Governor Terry Branstad cut Iowa Workforce Development's budget to save the state money. Today the Iowa Supreme Court ruled that the governor's line-item veto of the Iowa Workforce budget, that led to closing 36 offices in the state was unconstitutional. Workforce offices, including the one in Oskaloosa were closed, and replaced with hundreds of computer access points. Oskaloosa has three locations where job seekers can get on a computer and apply for unemployment insurance and look for work. But according to two site coordinators the change can be frustrating for people wanting one-on-one help.
