Teniecha Bright, one of seven original St. John the Baptist Parish deputy shooting suspects, released from jail By Juliet Linderman, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune on December 26, 2012 at 5:32 PM www.nola.com Teniecha Bright, one of seven suspects originally arrested in connection to the Aug. 16 shootings that left two St. John the Baptist Parish deputies dead and two others badly injured, and the only one no longer facing charges, was released from jail on Dec. 19. Bright had been in custody for four months -- two as a suspect, and two as a material witness. Bright appeared in court on Dec. 19, and paid $1000 of the $100000 bond set for her release. The remaining $99000 balance was accepted in the form of a signature from her mother, Telieta Robinson, now residing in Tangipahoa Parish, to ensure that her daughter would appear in court to give testimony on Jan. 18, as previously scheduled. Bright was arrested on Aug. 17, on principal to attempted first degree murder charges, and her bail set at $750000. On Oct. 10, a week before her charges were refused, the state filed a motion to place Bright under bond as a material witness, re-setting her bond at $100000. The motion stipulated that Bright would be released either when she is able to post bond, or when she gives testimony, which will be on Jan. 18.
