Motel & Restaurant Neon Signs, Springfield, MO Rt 66 &65
Some classic Restaurant and motel neon signs in Springfield, MO along Glenstone Ave. (US 65) and Kearney St., (Missouri US 66). All video taped on June 22, 1991. The Steak N Shake on Glenstone Ave. still retains its original architecture (2011) despite most others having been modernized. Many of the old motels seen here continue to exist, however the Maple Motel was torn down sometime in the past. The Glenstone Court and Rest Haven Court were each opened in 1947 and the Satellite in 1959. The Rest Haven Court is the only sign physically located on old Rt 66.
