HBO Phil Spector Project Filming in Mineola, New York: Al Pacino, Helen Mirren
On August 1st and 2nd 2011, Al Pacino (Phil Spector), Helen Mirren (Linda Kenney Baden), and Jeffrey Tambor shot scenes for HBO's Phil Spector project (M&D) on the south side of the State Supreme Court in Mineola, New York. David Mamet, writer and director, was in charge of a mob of extras protesting the death of Lana Clarkson. The building remained open throughout the shoot. It was originally scheduled to film at the County Court Building, which faces Old Country Road on July 18th and 19th with Bette Midler as Linda Kenney Baden. Midler exited the biopic due to a herniated disc. The movie had been shooting for six days and Midler had appeared on three of them.
