On Saturday, October 22, 2011, a Lakewood police officer running radar on Arthur Ave. observed a 2004 Chevy Cavalier traveling at 46 MPH and gave pursuit. The 24-year-old North Olmsted man and driver of the vehicle was apprehended after a chase that terminated in Cleveland. The man was convicted in Lakewood Municipal Court of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. City court records suggest the driver was supposed to be charged in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court for the felony of fleeing and eluding. However, county court records do not indicate the charges were filed. The man was charged in Cleveland Municipal Court for failure to control.
