Harris indicted in Jan 26 fatal crash
Gabrielle Harris of Toledo, was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Wednesday for her role in a Jan. 26 wild police chase and crash with Oregon police that killed 47-year-old Tonya Lynn Smith. Harris was indicted on one count of involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping, and failure to comply a direct order or signal from a police officer. The 29-year-old allegedly kidnapped Ms. Smith and drove away at high speeds on the streets of Oregon and Toledo Jan. 26. The two women allegedly shoplifted from a Meijer superstore on North Wheeling. Harris was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Jan. 27 on the involuntary manslaughter charge. She did not enter a plea and her bond was set at $100000. A pre-trail hearing in county common pleas court is pending.
