Dear Friends, I am truly honored to serve as your Justice on the 5th District Court of Appeals of Texas. I was appointed to the court by Governor Rick Perry in December 2009 and now must run for election for a full term. On the November 2, 2010 ballot, I will be the Republican candidate for this position. The 5th District includes six counties: Collin, Dallas, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman and Rockwall. At the time of my appointment to this court, I had been a State District Judge in Dallas County for almost fifteen years. In my twenty-seven years as a judge and attorney, I have been involved in countless cases and trials; this experience has prepared me well to serve as an appellate judge. Over the fifteen years that I have been a judge, I have been committed to ruling by the law as it is written and applying the law fairly and impartially.
