This is our special Lipdub viral video dedicated to CASA(Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Collin County, it was produced and edited by students from The University of Texas at Dallas. We hope that in our version of the lip dub viral structure, we will be able to incorporate and tie in important themes surrounding CASA and the cause it represents. By utilizing the resources we are aware of the bringing in talent to make a special contribution to a worthwhile and significant organization. -------- CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Collin County was incorporated in 1991 to provide trained community volunteers to advocate in the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the court system. From 1991-2010, 6924 vulnerable Collin County children had their own CASA advocate to help them find a safe and loving forever home. Today, CASA of Collin County serves as Guardian ad Litem for all children in foster care in the county. In Texas in 2010, CASA Volunteer Advocates served 20861 abused and neglected children. The more than 173 volunteers donated in excess of 31000 hours of volunteer time in 2010, each focusing on the child's best interest through services, treatment and placement. These sworn child advocates are given constant support and guidance by professional staff as well as training in child development, communications and cultural competency skills.
