Lubbock County law officer resigns amid allegations of assault
Please donate today the help is greatly appreciated. www.paypal.com LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX-County Constable for Precinct #3, Ronnie Vasquez, resigned effective December 31, 2011. He had been arrested twice last year, once on a criminal trespass case and the other on accusations of assault. District Attorney Matt Powell says Vasquez agrees to surrender his Texas peace officer's license. The charges had not been formally filed and Powell says he will not pursue them. Back in November, Vasquez' neighbors say he made racial slurs and threatened them with a baseball bat. County Commissioners are doing legal research to see if they need to appoint a replacement for Vasquez. Prior to being a Lubbock County Constable, Vasquez had been a City Marshal in Anton.
